Eccentric Cocktails and Perfect Serves

As our gins are crafted by brewers, distillers and mixologists, we don’t just know how to distill the perfect gin, we know a thing or two about serving them just so to maximise the full flavour profile of each and our mixologist Josh, has been hard at work creating his top cocktails for each of our gins.

First up is our dearly beloved Madam Geneva, who is rather simple when it comes to her perfect serve. Fill a wine glass with fresh ice, pour in a double Madam Geneva and add a slice of orange and a dash of tonic to taste.

She can also be used in our very own Eccentric Martini created by adding 60ml Madam Geneva, 10ml Dry Vermouth, 1 dash Orange Bitters and a spritz of Rosemary Lemon Spray (Madam Geneva infused with rosemary and lemon zest in a spray bottle) into a mixing glass. Stir the cocktail down with ice and pour into a chilled coupe and don’t forget to garnish it with a lemon twist and a small sprig of rosemary.

Next up is our Young Tom whose perfect serve consists of a double on the rocks with a slice of orange, or for a longer pour, add Peter Spanton’s Chocolate Tonic into the mix. But to shake things up a bit, try our Eccentric Martinez by mixing 50ml of Young Tom, 15ml of Dry Vermouth, 15ml of Sweet Vermouth and 5ml of Maraschino liqueur. Stir it down with ice and pour into a chilled cocktail coupe and garnish with an orange twist.

If it’s our Limbeck you’re in the market for, fill a wine glass with fresh ice, pour in a double and garnish with fresh sage and an orange slice and add tonic to taste for a perfect serve. But if you’re looking for something a little sweeter to whet your whistle try our Eccentric Pomegranate Collins by adding 50ml of Limbeck into a shaker, along with 20ml of Pomegranate Molasses and 15ml of Simple Syrup before shaking well with ice and pouring over fresh ice in a highball. Then top it up with soda and garnish with pomegranate jewels.

Give our Old Tom a try by pouring a double into a wine glass filled with fresh ice and garnish it with cloves and an orange slice, adding tonic to taste. Or you could go with our Eccentric Marmalade Collins by adding 50ml of Old Tom into a shaker with 25ml of fresh lemon juice, 15ml of Simple Syrup, 20ml of orange juice and two heaped teaspoons of a lovely Orange Marmalade. Give it a good old shake with ice and pour over fresh ice in a highball. Top it up with soda and garnish it with a slice of orange.

For Cardiff Dry

  • Perfect G&T- double measure served over lots of ice in a large wine glass. 1/3-1/2 a bottle of Fever-Tree Tonic to taste. Garnish with a wedge of Orange and a sprig of Rosemary or Cucumber wheels.
  • Forest Martini- 60ml Cardiff Dry, 10ml Lillet Blanc, 1 dash Grapefruit bitters. Stir down with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail coupe. Garnish with a sprig of Spruce.
  • Dr Price -40ml Cardiff Dry, 20ml Elderflower liqueur, 15ml Lemon juice, 1 dash Angostura Orange bitters and Egg White. Dry shake then wet shake and fine strain into a chilled cocktail coupe. No garnish.
